Counsel for our Granddaughter
WELCOME TO EARTH!
Close to the time that we received our mission call,
our daughter phoned to announce her pregnancy.
We were delighted of course. I told her I would make the necessary arrangements
to take a leave of absence from our mission in Sao Paulo, fly to Seattle,
and spend two weeks with her and her family after the baby was born.
Thankfully, all went as planned and
Savannah Rose Huffman arrived on Tuesday, October 14, 2014.
I arrived the following day.
These are just a few of her first photos.
Sisters first meeting!
We spent one rare sunny afternoon at the playground.
Evelyn had her "Little Gym" class
The first weekend Lucy, Evelyn and I went to Embassy Suites to swim and play
and give Mom and Dad a chance to "baby bond".
This was the beautiful view from our room.
So beautiful it made me weep for the autumn I had missed in Utah.
We walked across the street to McDonalds and guess who showed up!
He stayed for quite a while, doing magic tricks, posing and making all the kids pretty crazy!
Play Place tube.
The ward had their Halloween party. Queen Elsa and Anna were ready!
Shelly surprised me and decided to come with us.
Can't miss the party of the year!
True to our Grandchild tradition - I took Lucy shopping, dinner, ice cream and a movie for her birthday. We had extra time so she broke into her
new Barbie set to play at Ben & Jerry's.
Perfect spot to play with no little sister around :)
HURRAY FOR SAFEWAY!
Highlight for me! An American Supermarket.I don't even know how many hours I spent here.
Reading labels and prices in English. So much familiar selection. EXCITING!
I seriously stocked up on essentials to return to Brazil !!!
This is the night before I left to go back to Sao Paulo.
I wasn't really this happy. They just said to "smile".DEFINITION OF A MISSIONARY:
Someone who leaves their family for a short time (AGAIN)
so that others can find theirs forever.
Boarding in Detroit was surprisingly comforting. All these Brasilados speaking Portuguese, spreading their charm all over the plane. 8)
And then returning to the temporary "bachelor pad" - yes they missed me.
This place definitely needs a mom ;)
They did do some fun boy things while I was gone.
I'll post about that later ~
