Last Days at Work/Retirement

Craig's last day at Cities of Midvale & Holladay
The following is a wonderful "resolution" document, framed and given to us from city officials.

Resolution Recognizing H. Craig Hall for Dedicated Years of Service
as City attorney for the City of Holladay

         Whereas, the 20th day of June, 2014, marks the end of the service of H. Craig Hall as City Attorney for the City of Holladay; and

Whereas, during his more than  thirty years of dedicated public service for the City of Holladay and for other Utah municipalities and other public entities, he has witnessed Utah’s municipalities experiencing rapid growth and some of the best and worst of economic times, and, undoubtedly “seen and done it all” in his many years of service; and

Whereas, Craig has served the City of Holladay for twelve years under Mayors Larkin, Webb and Dahle, which have become defining years for the City, and, during that period given critical leadership and advice to the City in the difficult and controversial change in Holladay’s  form of government; and
        
         Whereas, he has provided the City of Holladay key guidance and experience in the adoption of numerous plans, ordinances, resolutions and projects, in the community such as the Holladay Village, Cottonwood Mall site, Canyon Slope Square, Holladay Elementary to City Hall conversion, Fire Station, Knudsen Park, Millrock area, among many others, and has worked cooperatively with members of the municipal council, planning commission, staff and the residents in the realization of a mature, respected, desirable City in the Salt Lake Valley; and
        
Whereas, he has displayed his ability to be a skillful negotiator in pursuing the City’s best interests and additionally has provided necessary training for the City’s employees, Council, boards and commissions regarding accurate, transparent, fair and good government; and

         Whereas, Craig is a unique man of many talents and experiences  and has spent a lifetime  devoted to his family and volunteering his energy to the mentoring of troubled youth, providing leadership in ecclesiastical positions, the Boy Scouts, Community Action Program, Head Start, and other benevolent program providers; and

         Whereas, Craig is also a man of many interests and expertise in photography, horseback riding, cycling, hunting and fishing, travel, boating to name just a few;  and whereas, Craig will be missed by his associates at the City of Holladay and his successors will have “big shoes to fill”; and

         Whereas,  Craig took on the personal crusade to champion  the development and adoption of a bee keeping ordinance for  the City.  The sweet fruits of his labor will be sorely missed;

         Now Therefore Let it be Resolved by the Holladay City Council that H. Craig Hall be commended for his more than twelve years of dedicated, appointed service to the citizens, employees, City Council and other boards and commissions of the City of Holladay;

         Be it Further Resolved that the elected officials of the City, it citizens and employees wish H. Craig Hall and his family good health, happiness and success in his pursuit of service in the realm of international law outside of the boundaries of the United States in Brazil and all future endeavors.
