Our “farewell” was held today. It was very heartening to see so many of our friends, family and associates at Sacrament meeting. Thanks to all for being "polite with no fighting about seats" :) Randy spoke first and did a superior job. I told about my feelings after watching the Saratov Approach and Elder Tuttles's desire to teach someone every day. I hope, in some way to do the same. Since our call, many events have occurred that makes it plain that we have a special reason why we are going to Brasil. Craig's truck accident, the mishap with the table saw, etc. It has been very evident that not only is Satan after us, the Lord is right behind trying to keep us safe.
The rest of the afternoon was spent with the kids and others at the house. It was the finals of the World Cup. It was a good afternoon just to sit and talk and think about things that they have to do and things that we have left to do.
The following day was our open house~
Earlier that day (Monday) I received a surprise visit from our friend Cecilia Fischer. She was born in Sao Paulo and lives in Orem, UT married to one of Craig's missionary companions, Ron. They cook a fabulous Brazilian feast every year at our missionary reunions. Anyway, she couldn't come to our open house but wanted to stop because she was in the neighborhood. She is the sweetest person and so "Brazilian". Friendly, bubbly etc. She completely got me excited to come. Wrote down many helpful details and encouraged me as I expressed all my fears.
She will be here in December to visit her daughter.
Obrigada, dear Cecilia! wish I had thought to snap a photo~
We only got a few photos at the "party" - too busy chatting!
